codes and conventions of real life drama

real life drama is often an exagerated show or film that reflects a true real life event or situation. It is eiter something that people can relate to (most often in a show) or something that people want to understand or see for entertainment purposes only (most often shown in a film). We may normally see a character going through a mid-life crisis and this will show conflict between the character themselves and others. Real life dramas connect with the audience and make a connection as it is a reality that some people can relate to. Situations may get tough and reach a braking point however there is always a happy ending and problems are normally always resolved. Wev are normally made to focus on one main character however minor characters will be used to show how there situations touch the lives of others as a real life drama would. The sound used will normally be heavy and dramatic to reflect the trauma and tradedgy going on in this characters life. Camera movement such as rolling shots and close ups helps the audience make more of a conection with the character and feel involved with their situation. The character is normally presented to the audience as a normal everyday person with costume and make so again the audience can make a connection through similarities. The settings will normally consisit of an average city or town if they used a capital or a very distinc place it would be harder for the audience to relate however this may also highlight the difficulties in there life and living and may make our audience intrigued if the character lives in a different place.
